Description
The JS JST-4 400v (code 011-004) is a three-phase heavy duty submersible drainage pump for clean and dirty water. It delivers up to 240 litres per minute and a maximum head of 12 metres from a 0.4 kW motor, through a 2-inch outlet, on a 400v three-phase supply. It is the smallest pump in the JST range: a compact 0.4 kW unit for sumps, pits and small dewatering jobs on a three-phase supply.
It is a manual pump, so it runs whenever power is applied. JS states that every JST model can be made to run automatically with a three-phase control panel and float switches; see our pump controls and float switches. In the same range, the JS JST-8 2″ is the next size up, 380 l/min to 15 m, and the JS JST-15H is the smallest high head model, if you need more lift.
Like every pump in the JST range, it has a stainless steel shaft and motor case, with a cast iron motor top cover, lower motor and seal housing, pump case, impeller and volute. Twin mechanical seals (carbon ceramic and silicon carbide) run in a lubricated chamber, and the pump comes with 10 metres of power cable. A hose tail is supplied for the outlet.

The JST range is for clean and dirty water containing small solids such as silt, sand and grit. It is not designed for raw sewage, rag or fibrous material, heavy slurry, oil or chemicals: for sewage on a 400v supply see the JST SV sewage vortex pumps, and for sand-laden water and slurry see the JST KB slurry pumps. It needs a 400v three-phase supply and, like any standard submersible, stops drawing once the water falls below the intake.
