Description
The Well Buddy 1000A (code 022-950) is a plastic multistage submersible pump with a stainless steel casing and an automatic float switch, for clean water from wells, springs, clean rivers and storage tanks. It delivers up to 110 litres per minute and a maximum head of 45 metres (4.5 bar) from a 1.0 kW motor, through a 1″ BSP outlet, on standard 230v single-phase mains.
The tethered float starts the pump as the water rises and stops it as the level falls, so the 1000A suits emptying a tank, transferring water between tanks or drawing down a well without leaving the pump running once the water has gone. If you want the pump to run whenever a tap or sprinkler is opened instead, the Well Buddy 1000P has the same 4-stage design with a built-in pressure control switch. For more flow or a 110v supply, the JS-530 Well Buddy is a separate JS Pumps range with a 1.3 kW motor, rated to 140 l/min.
Inside, four plastic impeller stages are stacked in a stainless steel casing. Stacking stages is what lets a 1.0 kW motor reach 45 metres of head, at the cost of some volume compared with a single-impeller drainage pump. The 1″ BSP outlet comes with a stepped hosetail that takes 1″ hose, ¾” hose or a ¾” threaded fitting.
The 1000A is 438 mm tall and 151 mm in diameter, weighs 11 kg, draws 4.5 A and comes with a 10 metre power cable.

Applications

For clean water only, with no suspended solids or abrasive material. It is not a drainage or dirty water pump, and at 151 mm across it will not fit a standard 4-inch or 5-inch borehole.
