Description
The JS JST-220KB (code 011-138) is the largest pump in the KB range. Its 22 kW, 400v three-phase motor delivers up to 2,800 litres per minute and a maximum head of 60 metres through a 6-inch top outlet, with a built-in agitator and 10 mm solids passage.
The JST-220KB gives the most flow and the most head in the range, so it suits deep, high-volume dewatering where no other KB model can reach the duty point. The next size down is the JST-150KB (2,700 l/min, 46 m). If you need much higher volumes at lower heads, or must pass larger solids, look at the JST KZN-H and KZN-L pumps.
Every KB pump shares the same build. The impeller, suction wear plate and agitator are abrasion-resistant high-chrome iron, the motor casing is cast iron and the shaft is 410 stainless steel, protected by a shaft sleeve where abrasives cause wear. Double mechanical seals (silicon carbide and carbon) run in a separate oil chamber, with an additional lip seal to keep grit away from them. The motor has Class H insulation and thermal overload protection, which trips on high current or high temperature, and JS Pumps uses an enhanced cable entry sealing system. The outlet is at the top, so the pumped liquid passes the motor and helps cool it for continuous duty.
Features
- 22 kW, 400v three-phase motor
- Up to 2,800 l/min and 60 m head
- 6″ top outlet
- Built-in high-chrome agitator
- Solids passage up to 10 mm
- Double mechanical seals, lip seal and thermal overload protection
Applications
- Deep open-pit mine dewatering
- Quarry floors with high lift to surface
- Large-scale lagoon and settling pond transfer
- Major civil engineering and dam works
At 22 kW you need a supply, generator and control panel rated for the motor, and lifting gear suited to a pump over a metre tall. These pumps are built for water carrying sand, silt and light slurry with particles up to 10 mm. They are not designed for raw sewage, rag or fibrous material, for which the JST SV sewage vortex pumps are the better choice, or for chemicals and hydrocarbons.
