Description
The JS RST-6 400v (code 012-006) is a three-phase top outlet submersible drainage pump for clean and dirty water. It delivers up to 280 litres per minute and a maximum head of 11 metres from a 0.55 kW motor, through a 2″ outlet, on a 400v three-phase supply. It is the smallest pump in the RST range and the usual choice for a three-phase site where the volumes are modest: a sump, a plant room pit or a small water feature.
It is a manual pump with no float switch, so it runs whenever power is applied. For automatic operation it is wired through a three-phase control panel with level floats; see our pump controls. In the same range, the JS RST-8 is the next size up, 345 l/min to 15 m on the same 2″ outlet.
Like the rest of the RST range, it has a stainless steel outer case, shaft and motor case, with a cast iron lower motor bearing and seal housing, motor top cover and volute. Twin mechanical seals (carbon ceramic and silicon carbide) run in a lubricated oil chamber. Water is drawn in through the strainer at the base and discharged through the outlet on top, and the pump is supplied with 10 metres of power cable.

The RST range is for clean and dirty water. It is not a sewage pump and is not designed for raw sewage, rag, fibrous material, sludge, oil or chemicals: for sewage on a 400v supply, see the JST SV sewage vortex pumps. It needs a 400v three-phase supply, should stand upright (JS advises these pumps must not be installed lying on their side), and, like any standard submersible, it stops drawing once the water falls below the intake.
