JS RS Top outlet drainage pumps

The RS Top Outlet range is a stainless steel submersible drainage pump series built for continuous duty applications where the light-duty RS-100 simply isn’t robust enough. Five power sizes, RS-150 through RS-750, are each available in 110v and 230v, giving ten models in total to match your site’s power supply and flow requirements.

Every model shares the same core construction: a stainless steel outer case, shaft and motor case, paired with a cast iron lower motor bearing/seal housing, motor top cover and volute. The top-mounted outlet is a key design feature, since it draws water up through the pump body as it discharges, keeping the motor cooled even when running in low water levels for extended periods. This makes the range suitable for permanent installation and genuinely continuous running, unlike lighter pumps designed for occasional use.

Facilities managers and contractors specify this range for basement and plant room drainage, construction site dewatering, water feature circulation, and any application needing clean or dirty water handling with solids up to 6mm. The stainless steel construction also makes it a sound choice where corrosion resistance matters, including light chemical exposure and food industry settings.

Choosing the right RS model

The model number after “RS” reflects the motor wattage, so an RS-150 runs a 0.15kW motor while an RS-750 runs a 0.75kW motor. Flow rate and head both increase as you move up the range, from 180 l/min at 7.5m on the RS-150 to 345 l/min at 15m on the RS-750. Match your model to the depth you need to lift water and the volume you expect to move.

Construction changes slightly partway through the range too. The RS-150 through RS-400 use a plastic impeller, while the RS-550 and RS-750 step up to a cast iron impeller for the higher flow and head demands at that end of the range. All models handle solids up to 6mm regardless of impeller material.

Voltage choice depends on your site rather than the pump itself, since flow and head figures are identical between 110v and 230v versions of the same model. Construction sites and other locations using reduced voltage equipment need the 110v option; standard mains installations use 230v. One point worth flagging for the RS-750 specifically: the AGMA tube float switch isn’t recommended on the 110v version due to its higher current draw, so a MAC3 cable float is the better automatic option at that size.
