Description
The Pentair Flotec Compac 150 230v (code 020-090) is a compact submersible sump pump for clean water, with the float switch built into the pump body. It moves up to 8,500 litres an hour (about 140 l/min) and lifts to a maximum head of 7 metres from a 300 W power input, through a 1¼” male outlet, and runs on standard 230v single-phase mains.
This is the model for most household sumps, cellars and utility room pits, where the water only has to rise a few metres to a drain. The Compac 150 110v is the same pump for building sites on a 110v transformer, and the Compac 200 230v fits the same 280 mm tall body with a 650 W motor for about 190 l/min and 10 m of head, if water comes in faster or has further to go.
The body is polypropylene with a single Noryl impeller and a stainless steel motor shaft. Pentair rates the motor IP68 with class F insulation and fits a thermal protection switch that stops the pump if the motor overloads, restarting it once it has cooled. A check valve stops water in the hose draining back, and the stepped hose connector is cut to suit ¾”, 1″ or 1¼” hose. It comes with 10 metres of power cable.
A lever on the front sets the mode. In automatic (AUT) the integrated float starts the pump when the water reaches about 140 mm and stops it at about 30 mm. In manual (MAN) the float is bypassed and the pump runs until you switch it off, lowering the water to about 3 mm. The pump needs at least 15 mm of water to start pumping.

For clean water and moderately dirty water carrying soft particles up to 5 mm, at up to 40°C. Sand and other abrasive solids wear the pump. Not suitable for sewage, sea water, or flammable, corrosive or aggressive liquids, and never run it without water: in manual mode stay with the pump and switch it off once the water has gone.
The pump measures 280 mm high on a 170 x 200 mm footprint and should stand upright on a firm, flat base rather than directly on sand or gravel. Pentair recommends no more than 30 starts an hour and an RCD rated at 30 mA or less on the supply.
