What is a surface mounted pump?

Surface-mounted pumps are typically installed ‘dry’ above the liquid being pumped. These pumps lift the liquid using suction and have the advantage of their motors not being submerged in the pumped liquid. With regular servicing, the life expectancy of a surface-mounted pump would exceed that of a submersible pump.

Surface mounted pumps are designed to be mounted above ground, making them easy to install, maintain, and repair. They are typically used for applications where a submersible pump is not feasible, such as in shallow wells, water treatment plants, or industrial processes. Our surface mounted pumps are available in a range of sizes and configurations to suit different flow rates, pressures, and fluid types.

How do surface mounted pumps work?

Surface mounted pumps work by using a motor to drive an impeller, which creates suction and pushes fluid through the pump and out into the discharge pipe. The pump is typically mounted above ground, with the suction pipe extending down into the fluid source. This design allows for easy access to the pump and motor for maintenance and repair.

What are the benefits of surface mounted pumps?

Surface mounted pumps offer several benefits, including:

  • Easy installation and maintenance: Surface mounted pumps are simpler to install and maintain than submersible pumps, reducing downtime and costs.
  • Flexibility: Surface mounted pumps can be used in a wide range of applications, from industrial processes to residential water supply.
  • Reliability: Surface mounted pumps are designed to provide consistent performance and long-lasting reliability, reducing the risk of downtime and costly repairs.

What types of surface mounted pumps do you offer?

We offer a range of surface mounted pumps, including:

  • Centrifugal pumps: Ideal for high-flow, low-pressure applications, such as water supply and treatment.
  • Positive displacement pumps: Suitable for high-pressure, low-flow applications, such as industrial processes and oil transfer.
  • Self-priming pumps: Designed for applications where the pump needs to prime itself, such as in agricultural and industrial settings.

What are the common applications for surface mounted pumps?

Surface mounted pumps are commonly used in:

  • Water treatment plants
  • Industrial processes
  • Agricultural irrigation
  • Residential water supply
  • Oil transfer and refining
  • Chemical processing
